Our Mission
We believe good transit decisions should not depend on the size of an agency's data team. Marga's mission is to put defensible, evidence-based analysis within reach of small and mid-size transit agencies, so every team can inspect its service data, explain its tradeoffs, and make decisions riders can trust.
The Problem
Service analysis should be easy to run again
Basic questions — peak headways, coverage gaps, how you stack up against peer agencies — live across GTFS, NTD, and ridership files that are hard to join and harder to re-run, so they get asked less often than they should.
And the gap compounds: findings surface late, fixes wait for the next service change, and the analysis lives in one person's spreadsheet instead of somewhere the whole team can build on. Agencies — and their teams — deserve tools as good as their data.
Our Approach
Start with your standards, then ask questions
Share your GTFS feed and the headway standards your agency has configured. Marga accounts for every weekday route, then checks each applicable route against the target configured for its service type. The result is a service standards report your team can rerun whenever the schedule changes — for recurring standards reporting, board decision evidence, documenting service needs, or a repeatable performance review.
From there you drill into any finding in plain English, with ridership, Census, and NTD context available when a result needs more than the schedule to explain it. Marga runs deterministic analysis and explains the results; every number is computed from identified source data, never generated by AI.
